In Uganda, a phenomenon is occurring that we see almost everywhere in the world: in rural areas, it is more difficult to secure a microcredit, especially if you are a farmer. Hofokam takes its financial services to the farmers. This approach has already earned them more than 15,000 customers.
What does BRS do?
Since the start of the cooperation in 2009, BRS has been committed to supporting Hofokam’s management team to further develop its financial services for the rural population in Western Uganda.
One of the major steps involved Hofokam’s digital transformation process, connecting all the offices and enabling payments to be made more smoothly and securely. This step is part of Hofokam’s greater ambition to be recognised as an organisation that is also allowed to receive savings. Hofokam can count on BRS for training and advice in the field of product development and risk management.
