Thanks to the savings and credit cooperative K-Coop, a great many people who are not considered creditworthy by the commercial banks have access to microcredits. K-Coop customers form a loan group that guarantees its members. These groups, consisting of 25 to 30 members, meet on a regular basis and therefore also play an important social role.
In this way, 45,000, mainly female, entrepreneurs and farmers are given the opportunity to invest in various activities in order to improve their quality of life. K-Coop hopes to double this number in the near future.
K-Coop and BRS collaborate on various themes such as savings and credit products, risk management, human resources and digitalisation. A first workshop on product development, marketing and process improvement took place in December 2023. Together with a few KBC volunteers and our other Filipino partner, GSAC, many experiences were exchanged and new insights were presented.
